GRANTS — Funeral services for Geneva Sophia Ford, 91, will be Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Rev. Garland Moore will officiate. Visitaion will be Sunday, July 31, 2011, at 5 p.m. to 7p.m. at Compassion Mortuary.
Ford died July 28, 2011, in Grants. She was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Mankato, Minn.
Ford helped with World War II, worked with Kato Engineering Generators, the Forest Service, Phillips 66 Stations and Burns Security. She moved to the Grants area in 1969 and was loved by all.
Survivors inclued her children Shelly Reeves of Grants, Judith Chasteen of Okla., Jennele Gorse of Grants, Kathleen Burch of Optima, Okla., Dennis Ford of Dove Creek, Colo., Ronald Ford of Grants and Keith Ford of Grants; 26 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Elmer D. Ford; 2 grandchildren; parents Edward Peter Hoffman and Minnie Kind Hoffman; brothers Edward Hoffman, Jerry Hoffman, and Raymond Hoffman; sisters Lorraine Plummer and Joanne.
Pallbearers will be Steven Ford, Dennis “DJ” Ford, Edward Ford, Ronald Ford, Cody Reeves, Kenneth Small, Pat Salazar, and Manuel Sanchez.
